Giving thanks is very important. It’s all over the place in the Bible. So you don’t want to shortchange it. (See, for example, how giving thanks is part of our protection from anxiety in Philippians 4:6-7.) If you need to focus on Thanksgiving, please come back in a week and a half (or “like us on Facebook”). We’ll post another note for you then.
Are you still reading? If so, you must be the long-ranging planning type! In that case, this is a good time to choose a devotional to help you prepare for Christmas. For centuries, many parts of the Christian Church have observed the season of Advent (Latin for “coming”) as a time of preparation. The culture we live in would like to sweep you up in gift-buying, decorating, and stressing about “the perfect Christmas.” But the one for whom Christmas is named – Jesus himself – invites you to be centered in Him and find peace. His peace can calm the storms of this season and remind us of what matters.
Be Born in Us Today, a daily devotional written by a woman for women was created to help you stay focused on the real “reason for the season.” It includes Bible readings, daily reflections, prayers for you to pray (or personalize), and a daily practice to help you live the good news.
You’re invited to experience Christmas in a new way this year. And you’re going to love it.
